  • The Secret of the Sphinx (Kid Quest Adventures Book 1) By J. K. Drew.  I got this book for my daughter, it’s still FREE!
  • Only A Kiss by Ines Bautista-Yao. This book was free on a promotional post I saw.  It looks like a cute short story. It’s back up to 2.99 now.
  • Insignificant (Anything But #3) By Lindy Zart.  I have the first two already and I can finish this series now! It went back up to 2.99.
  • 1981: Jessie’s Girl (Love in the 80s #2) by Lindy Zart.  It’s free as of today! It’s a short story standalone which I use in between finishing my series.
  • How to Cook Restaurant-Quality Burgers by Tony James Miller.  We love to experiment with burgers so I had to get this one.

  • The Baby Bombshell (Shadow Creek Montana #2) by Victoria James from Entangled: Bliss (Entangled Publishing LLC) — releases April 10th, 2017.  I read book one in this series and thoroughly enjoyed it (see my review here), and I knew even then I would be keeping my eyes peeled for Jack and Lily’s story.
  • Incriminating Dating by Rebekah L. Purdy from Entangled: Crush (Entangled Publishing LLC) — releases April 10th, 2017.  I’m a sucker for most books in this line by Entangled, and I couldn’t help myself.
  • Remember Me Forever (Lovely Vicious #3) by Sara Wolf from Entangled: Teen (Entangled Publishing LLC) — releases May 2nd, 2017.  Another book that I’ve read the previous books in the series and absolutely LOVED them (see my reviews for Love Me Never and Forget Me Always), and have been waiting impatiently for what I believe is the final book.  I was so excited to get approved.

Preorders That Went Live:

34527470

  • Goodbye Paradise (Hello Goodbye #1) by Sarina Bowen — released on March 21st, 2017.  I adore this author, especially her M/M stuff, so I was definitely excited about a new one.  Can’t wait to fit this in.  She’s an author I’m hoping to meet at the Big Apple Author Event I will be attending.

New Releases:

34637454

  • Mad About Matt (A Red Maple Falls Novel #1) by Theresa Paolo — released on March 18th, 2017.  This is an author that I have enjoyed in the past (especially the books she’s co-written with Cassie Mae), and so I grabbed this new release!  Especially since its being marketed as being similar to Katy Regnery’s Blueberry Lane novels, which I adore.

  • Altercation (Playmaker Duet #1, Prescott Family #2) and Breakaway (Playmaker Duet #0.5, Prescott Family #1.75) by Mignon Mykel — So I recently read this review by Deanna @A Novel Glimpse for Altercation, and I had been curious after her reviews of the two prequels (one of which is Breakaway), so when I saw Altercation was on a release sale of 99 cents, I figured I should go for it!  Here’s hoping this is another one of those times where my tastes match up!

  • Rookie Move (Brooklyn Bruisers #1) by Sarina Bowen — I was able to read a NetGalley ARC of this book in the fall and enjoyed it (see my review here), so I put it on my wishlist.  So when I got an eReaderIQ alert that the price had dropped to $1.99 from its regular $2.99 I grabbed it (still on sale).  Honestly, I don’t think $2.99 is its regular price, or at least whoever has the Canadian rights does not have that as the price, since the other two books in the series are $7+ for me…  I totes would have bought this if it was $2.99 I’m sure, so I was just excited that the sale price was for me too and snatched it up.  Same author as above for Goodbye Paradise, gonna be getting a lot of books signed by her at the Big Apple Author Event.
  • Completely Yours (Opposites Attract #1) by Erin Nicholas — Another book I read the NetGalley ARC of and really enjoyed (see my review here), and I just finished book 2, which was fabulous as well (see that review here).  When I was writing up my review for book 2, I noticed the price drop on Completely Yours and so I snatched it up.  Not sure what the regular price is, but I can get down with $1.99.  🙂
  • Blissfully Married (Married #4) by Victorine E. Lieske — I follow this author on BookBub, so BookBub made sure to tell me that this book was free!!  I really need to get back into this series.  Alas, it was a one day deal and is now over.

  • The Truth About Us by Allie Martin writing as TJ Hannah. I saw this being promo’d in one of the groups I’m and guess what? IT’S NOT A SERIES! So I snatched it up. You know how many books I’ve had to back away from because they were series? This challenge is killing me!

  • Pipe Dreams (Brooklyn Bruisers #3) by Sarina Bowen from Berkley (Berkley Publishing Group) — releases May 2nd, 2017.  I might have squeeeeed out loud when I got the approval for this one.  They are highly coveted, so I felt very lucky to be considered.  I love this author, and enjoyed the previous two books in this series (see my reviews for Rookie Move and Hard Hitter).  She’s another author I’m hoping to meet at the Big Apple Author Event I will be attending.

  • Operation Prom Date (Tactics in Flirting #1) by Cindi Madsen — released on March 13th, 2017.  I read an ARC of this book and ADORED it (see my review here), so of course I preordered it.

  • Wasted Words by Staci Hart — I’ve seen some mixed reviews for this book, but was still curious about it.  So when I saw it offered as a freebie on Penny Reid’s newsletter, I decided to take advantage!
  • Complicated (a Chaos Novella, Songbird #9.5) by Melissa Pearl — I actually got this one at the end of February, but I kind of forgot about it because I beta read it earlier in the month.  This is one of two free novellas offered to subscribers of Melissa Pearl’s Mailing List — you can subscribe here.  This is another book I need to get my review written for!  I’m so behind.  I don’t know why I didn’t write this one right away…I think because my laptop got stolen the day after I finished beta-reading it.

  1. The Princess of Mars (Barsoom #1) by Edgar Rice Burroughs. This is on my Decades of Sci-fi Challenge and I want to start it soon.
  2. Morning Star (Red Rising #3) by Pierce Brown. This is the last book in the series and they keep getting better with every one he writes. Very excited to finish this series.
  3. Silence: Part Two of Echoes & Silence (Dark Secrets #6) by A.M. Hudson. I’ve been sitting on this book for like two years. This is the year I finish it.
  4. Diary of Bink Cummings: Vol 3 (MC Chronicles #3) by Bink Cummings. Another book I’ve been sitting on for a while. You’ll notice most of these are series finale’s. Most of my books will be finales because that’s my main reading challenge this year.
  5. While We Waited (The Reed Brothers #8) by Tammy Falkner. Another one in a long line of Reed Brothers books that I am obsessed with.
  6. How I Fall (How I Fall #1) by Anne Elliot. I’ve been told I need to read this series. I have both already I just need to start it.
  7. Shroud of Lies (Brewer Brothers #3) by Nancy Straight.
  8. How to Seduce a Band Geek (How To #2) by Cassie Mae.
  9. Broken Records by Cassie Mae & Tessa Marie.
  10. Rabbit Bones (Redemption #2) by A.L. Tyler.

Lenoreo’s Top Ten:

I made it easy on myself and just grabbed the NetGalleys/ARCs that I’m going to be reading over the next two months or so.  Technically, one of these I don’t have yet, but my fingers are crossed that I do get it!

  3. Stripped Bare (Vegas Billionaire #1) by Heidi McLaughlin — releases March 28th.

  6. Royal Disaster (Royal Scandal #2) by Parker Swift — releases April 4th.
  7. Dancing in the Rain by Kelly Jamieson — releases April 11th.
  8. The Bohemian and the Businessman (The Story Sisters #1) by Katy Regnery — releases April 24th.  This is the one I’ve signed up for an ARC for, but don’t know if I got it or not.
  9. Pipe Dreams (Brooklyn Bruisers #3) by Sarina Bowen — releases May 2nd.  I seriously *just* got this one, sooooo excited.
  10. Until You (Bachelor Brotherhood #2) by Denise Grover Swank — releases May 30th.

So how about you guys?  What books are you planning on reading this Spring?  Or what new releases are you most anticipating?

  • Fanning the Flames (Going Down in Flames #4) by Chris Cannon from Entangled: Teen (Entangled Publishing, LLC) — released March 6th, 2017.  I’ve read the first 3 books in this series and really adore Brynn, I can’t wait to read this next installment.
  • Until You (Bachelor Brotherhood #2) by Denise Grover Swank from Forever (Grand Central Publishing) — releases May 30th, 2017.  I read the first book in this series and enjoyed it (see my review for Only You here), so thought I’d continue on.
  • Royal Disaster (Royal Scandal #2) by Parker Swift from Forever Yours (Grand Central Publishing) — releases April 4th, 2017.  I recently read the first book, Royal Affair (see my review here), and enjoyed it despite reservations, so I’m curious what happens next for Lydia.
  • Geekerella: A Fangirl Fairy Tale by Ashley Poston from Quirk Books — releases April 4th, 2017.  Honestly, I requested this one so long ago I forgot about it and assumed I was getting rejected.  So now my April is busier than I expected.  First World Problems right?

NetGalley ARC Widgets Offered (and Taken):

  • Swinging at Love (Suttonville Sentinels #2) by Kendra C. Highley from Entangled: Crush (Entangled Publishing, LLC) — releases March 13th, 2017.  I read the first book in this series and ADORED it (see my review of The Bad Boy Bargain here), and so I was offered a last minute widget for this book and I said heck yes!  Just started it.

Preorders That Went Live:

33543707

  • A Boy Like You (Like You #1) by Ginger Scott — released on March 3rd, 2017.  I read an ARC of this book and ADORED it (see my review here), and now I can’t wait to meet Ms. Scott in May at Romancing the Falls and get a paperback copy too.

New Releases:

34359122

  • Hear No Evil (Brotherhood Trilogy #3) by Jordan Ford — released February 28th?, 2017.  Another book I beta read!!  I don’t have reviews for the books I beta read in this trilogy because I ended up reading earlier copies and I want to go back and read the final copy before writing out a review.  Hopefully this summer.  But it was a fantastic conclusion, I highly recommend the series.

Had To Get the Next Book In The Series:

1891241020810385

  • Honored (The Té-trad Tale #2) and Conquered (The Té-trad Tale #3) by M.A. Wilder — I grabbed the first book in this series based on a recommendation, and then got sucked in so had to grab the next two as I was reading it.  🙂  These two have been already been read and reviewed, Honored here and Conquered here.

  • All I Want (Alabama Summer #2) and When I Fall (Alabama Summer #3) by J. Daniels — I have the first book in this series, and I saw Deanna @A Novel Glimpse review this series at the end of December, so when I saw All I Want on a BookBub email for 99 cents from its regular $3.99, and knowing this author would be attending the Big Apple Author Event I will be attending, I snatched it up.  And then when I went to this authors Facebook page and saw that book 3 was also on sale for $1.99 from its regular $3.99 as well, I figured why not?  Sorry folks, this sale is over.
  • Appaloosa Summer (Island Series #1), Wednesday Riders (Island Series #2), Join Up (Island Series #3), and Faults (Island Series #4) by Tudor Robins — I’ve read ARCs of the first 3 books in this series and really enjoyed them, and I have the 4th book burning a hole in my pocket…so when I saw the author announce that these books would all be free for one day, I snatched them up!  Another sale that is over though.
  • From Sand and Ash by Amy Harmon — Got an eReaderIQ alert that this one is on sale for $1.99 from its regular $3.99 (still on sale!), and even though I have the paperback, I always prefer reading on my Kindle (and keeping the pretty paperbacks for my shelf).
  • Dust in the Desert (Flipped Fairy Tales) by Starla Huchton — Another eReaderIQ alert, this one for free from its usual $2.99 (not still on sale).  I’ve read the previous book in this series of flipped fairy tales, and we saw hints of this story so I’ve been curious about it.

  • Nova (The Renegades #2) by Rebecca Yarros — released on February 20th, 2017.  I loved the first book (Wilder) in this new series by Rebecca Yarros, so of course I needed to have this one show up on my Kindle.  Course I’m not sure when I’m going to get to it…soon I hope.  Landon!!

  • Tempered Hearts (Hearts of Valentia #1) by S.A. Huchton — I met this author at UtopiaCon a few years ago, and so I’ve been following her works.  So I got an eReaderIQ alert that this one is on for free from its regular $2.99 (still free!) and totally went for it.

Top Ten Books We Liked Less Than Everyone Else

Top Ten Tuesday
(Images link to Goodreads, Titles link to Amazon using Amazon Affiliate links)

Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created by The Broke and the Bookish in which you make a list of ten to do with a certain topic.  This week’s topic is “Ten Books I Loved Less/More Than I Thought I Would (recently or all time) — or you could do something like books I liked more/less than everyone else.”  We’re going with Top Ten Books We Liked Less Than Everyone Else.

Curly Carla’s Top Ten:

I’m doing books I liked less than everyone else.  I picked these books because my rating is less than the overall rating of them on GR and Amazon.

30334744lilith scroll22343895Revelation24793513Bully18660228206407431862536315752383

  1. Remember Jamie Baker by Kelly Oram. I barely finished this book.  See my review here.
  2. The Lilith Scroll by B. L. Marsh. I couldn’t even finish this book.  See my review here.
  3. Lightning in my Wake by Lila Felix. I’m hit or miss with her books, this one was a miss.
  4. Revelation by Randi Cooley Wilson. Too slow for me.  See my review here.
  5. Dream of Me by Quinn Loftis. I just wasn’t feeling this one.
  6. Bully by Penelope Douglas. I have a love hate relationship with this series.  See my review here.
  7. Chance by A.C. Heller. Oh boy, I did not like this book.
  8. A Tragic Wreck by T.K. Leigh.
  9. Love and Hate by Chelsea Ballinger.
  10. Anna by Julia Crane.

Lenoreo’s Top Ten:

This topic kind of reminded me of a Top Ten Tuesday we did last year, Top Ten Characters Everyone Loves That I Just Don’t Get.  So I didn’t want this to get repetitive, so I tried to pick some different ones.  I do have a few in here where it’s not that I didn’t like the book, I just expected to 5 star it like my friends, only I didn’t.

neanderthal seeks human332222622787230632467927Kaleidoscope Hearts1810501151nu1jnpgdl173759561750432031345293

  1. Neanderthal Seeks Human (Knitting in the City #1) by Penny Reid — This is the one that pains me the most, b/c I felt like I was missing out on the Penny Reid club, and I really wanted to be in that club.  (Thankfully I finally found my Penny Reid gem just earlier this year)  See my review here.
  2. Don’t Speak (A Modern Fairytale) by Katy Regnery — I adore Ms. Regnery, and this was my first foray into her contemporary fairytale retellings, and when I wasn’t blown away I was sooooo sad.  Especially since it’s been getting fabulous reviews.  See my review here.
  3. The Stocking Was Hung (The Holidays #1) by Tara Sivec — I know this author is really popular, but I apparently don’t have the right sense of humour.  See my review here.
  4. Nine Minutes (Nine Minutes #1) by Beth Flynn — This book is extremely popular, but I just ended up feeling conflicted over it, and still haven’t read anymore in the series and probably won’t.
  5. Kaleidoscope Hearts (Hearts #1) by Claire Contreras — Another book that is really hyped, but I was just underwhelmed.  See my review here.
  6. Sweet Home (Sweet Home #1) by Tillie Cole — Yup, you guessed it, another book that is loved by so many, and this one REALLY disappointed me.  I’ve maybe been convinced to try the next in the series, but this one just aggravated me.  See my review here.
  7. Love and Decay: Season Two by Rachel Higginson — This one broke my heart because I adore this author, but season two was very up and down for me, and I haven’t gotten back to the series since.  See my review for volume 3, volume 4, and volume 5.
  8. Reaper’s Property (Reapers MC #1) by Joanna Wylde — This is the book that showed me that apparently I’m not an MC book kind of girl.  See my review here.
  9. Taking Shots (Assassins #1) by Toni Aleo — Another really popular hockey series, and it just did not work for me.  See my review here.
  10. Cheater (Curious Liaisons #1) by Rachel Van Dyken — And this one is kind of like the Tara Sivec book…it wasn’t the cheating that really turned me off, it was the over the top humour.  See my review here.

So how about you guys?  What books did you not enjoy as much as everyone else?  Are you shocked by any on our lists?
