Stacking The Shelves is feature/weekly meme created by Tynga’s Reviews in which you share the books you are adding to your shelves, both physical and virtual. This means you can include books you buy in physical stores or online, books you borrow from friends or the library, review books, gifts and of course ebooks!

  • Kissing Max Holden by Katy Upperman from Swoon Reads (Macmillan Children’s Publishing Group) — releases August 1st, 2017.  I honestly don’t remember how I heard about this book, I feel like one of the authors I follow was talking about it back when it was on the Swoon Reads website, where authors can put up their books for readers to read and then popular ones get picked up for publication.  Obviously I didn’t get a chance to read it then (because I really dislike reading books on my computer), so I was crossing my fingers that I would get approved, and I let out a squeal when I got the email!!

Preorders That Went Live:

34223444

  • Hello Forever (Hello Goodbye #2) by Sarina Bowen — released July 14th, 2017.  I already read an ARC of this book (see my review here) and thoroughly enjoyed it, so I preordered it to have the final copy.

Got It On Sale:

33574977

  • The Rule Maker (The Rule Breakers #2) by Jennifer Blackwood — I had been intrigued by this book after reading this review by Deanna @A Novel Glimpse and this review by Cristina @My Tiny Obsessions.  So when I saw that this author would be attending Apollycon 2018 in Washington, D.C. next March, I put it on my wishlist.  And when I got the eReaderIQ alert that it was on sale for 99 cents from its usual $3.99, I snatched it up!  Still on sale!

  • One True Pairing (Fandom Hearts #2) by Cathy Yardley from Swerve (St. Martin’s Press).  I read Level Up by her last year and really enjoyed it so when Lenore let me know this was up for grabs we both requested it…..and I got it! Releases July 25, 2017.

Books I Bought From The Library:

OMG you guys I just found out that my local library sells books!  They have a whole room FULL of books for sale.  And the most expensive book is one dollar! I spent five bucks last week and got eleven books!  Nine of them were for my daughter and my cousins, but I kept two for myself.

25600816086196

  • Lonesome Dove (Lonesome Dove #1) by Larry McMurtry. I’ve recently started reading westerns and I have found that I like them.  This book was like 50 cents, which is a steal since the ebook is $13.99!
  • The Cadence by Casey Hays.  This book was an ARC and I thought it was illegal to sell them but I liked the blurb so I snagged it for 50 cents.

Facebook Freebies:

18221931

  • Carter Reed (Carter Reed #1) by Tijan.  I’m a sucker for anything she writes, even if they are over the top.

Lenoreo’s Haul

(All Ebooks unless otherwise specified)

NetGalley ARC Requests Approved:

30174469

  • One True Pairing (Fandom Hearts #2) by Cathy Yardley from Swerve (St. Martin’s Press) — releases July 25th, 2017.  Curly Carla loved the first book in this series (read her review of Level Up here), and I have it on my TBR, so when I spotted this I had to request!

New Releases:

32721297

  • The Director and Don Juan (The Story Sisters #2, Blueberry Lane #16) by Katy Regnery — released June 30th, 2017.  Often when I’ve gotten ARCs of books, I’ll wait until they go on sale to buy the released copy…or in the case of the various Blueberry Lane serieses, I’ll often wait for the box sets b/c then it declutters my Kindle.  But upon hearing that this series is not continuing beyond this story, I figured I’d grab this one now.  You can read my review here.

Book Outlet:

So I got sucked in by another Book Outlet sale.  I mean, the books are just a good deal as it is, but then they had an extra 15% off, and I managed to snag a $5 off coupon thing (which is basically shipping).  So I went a bit crazy.  *rolls eyes*  I’m going to be lazy and leave off the Goodreads links, sorry…titles will just go to Amazon.

IMG_20170701_152242.jpg

  • Chasing Truth (Eleanor Ames #1) by Julie Cross — I read an ARC of this one in the fall and really enjoyed it (see my review here), so I figured why not snag the paperback?
  • Love Blind by C. Desir & Jolene Perry — I love Ms. Perry, and this book has intrigued me since I heard about it.  But the Kindle book is $10.99 (actually, for me it’s over $16, stupid Canadian publisher).  When you can get the Hardcover for less than the Kindle book on Amazon, it’s just ridiculous.  Why publishers?  Why you hate your readers who like ebooks?  Actually, you know what?  I think the Hardcover is just on sale on Amazon…maybe because of Prime Day?  So maybe it’s usually more expensive.  OK, that’s fine.  But still, I’m too cheap for $11 for an ebook.
  • What I Thought Was True by Huntley Fitzpatrick — I’ve only read one book by this author, but I enjoyed it and this one sounded good and was pretty cheap!
  • Until Friday Night (The Field Party #1) by Abbi Glines — I’ve been intrigued by this book since it first came out (I do have the Kindle copy), and the author will be attending Apollycon 2018 in Washington, D.C. next March so I figured why not snag it?
  • Contradictions (Woodfalls Girls #3) by Tiffany King — I’ve only read book 1 in this series, but I have the first two signed by the author, so thought I’d collect the final book.
  • The Sky Is Everywhere by Jandy Nelson — I have a Kindle copy of this book, and it’s a favourite of one my besties, so I figured I’d take a chance I’ll love it too.
  • The Edge of Never (The Edge of Never #1) by J.A. Redmerski — Huh, I thought I remembered loving this book, but I just read my review and I was more conflicted.  Whoops.
  • Lead & Deep (Stage Dive #3-4) by Kylie Scott — I haven’t read this series, but I got the paperback of the first two books combined, so thought I would complete it.  And since I *just* read my first Kylie Scott book and LOVED it, I’m looking forward to this even more!

Gifted/Won It:

IMG_20170625_120153.jpg31943649

  • The Big Play Journal (Big Play bonus) by Jordan Ford — Ms. Ford created this cute little journal to help celebrate the one year publishaversary of the first book in the Big Play series, and I got to proof it for her!  As a thank you, she sent me a copy all the way from New Zealand!  It’s so cute in real life…it’s only available in paperback, b/c it’s meant to be doodled in…duh, it’s a journal.  But it’s got bonus content and insights, totally worth it!
  • A Songbird Novel Box Set: True Love, Troublemaker, & Rough Water (Songbird #5-7) by Melissa Pearl — I won a free ebook of my choice from Ms. Pearl, and TOTALLY NOT SUCKING UP I chose this middle box set of the Songbird novels.  I missed the sale last month, and I’m in the middle of my read-a-thon, so I really wanted to be able to read them in a box set (it declutters my Kindle).  I finished rereading True Love last week, I’m on to my adorable Marcus in Troublemaker next!!

Had to Get the Next in the Series:

303678273052111032603241

  • #Swag (GearShark #3) by Cambria Hebert — So I recently won a gift card, and I decided I was gonna spend it on a few books I’ve desperately been wanting, and I doubt will go on sale anytime soon.  I actually have book 4 in this series already, but I only have this one in paperback.  And I really don’t like reading paperbacks anymore, so I needed the Kindle copy.  😛  This author is going to be attending the Big Apple Author Event in October, so that makes catching up on this series an emergency…and I’m an in order reader.  🙂
  • Steadfast (True North #2) and Keepsake (True North #3) by Sarina Bowen — Same deal as for #Swag.  I had a gift card burning a hole in my pocket, and this author is going to be attending the Big Apple Author Event in October, so I plan on bingeing this series this summer.

Got It On Sale:

29013337

  • P.S. I Like You by Kasie West — I have never read a Kasie West book, but I’ve always wanted to.  I’m just cheap.  And this is the one that I MOST wanted to read, so it’s on my wishlist.  And when Amazon sent me an e-mail telling me it was on sale for $2.99 (it’s usually $10.99), I said yes please!!  Still on sale!!

Mine goes back two weeks cause I was lazy last week. ☺

Gifted to Me:

2275619035494770

  • This is Falling (Falling #1) by Ginger Scott.  You guys!  Lenore gave me another book to read by GS!  I’m so excited to start this! (Lenore here: it’s still on sale for 99 cents!)
  • This Fragile Heart by Allie Martin, Cassie Mae, Jolene Perry, Tessa Marie and Rachel Schieffelbein.  Lenore also gifted me this box set.
  • The Heartland Homecoming Universe Bundle by Vicky Holt, Jacquie Gee, Rosemary Danielis and Kimberley Montpetit — gifted to me by V.L. Holt.  So V.L. Holt and I are real friendly, so when she offered me a gift code for review I enthusiastically said yes! I had no idea I was getting TWO of her book in the process. For which I’m glad because I do love me some V.L. Holt. ☺  This bundle is only available through Storybundle (the title link will go to where you can purchase it — only available for 20 more days).  However, a couple of the books are available for purchase by themselves on Amazon (titles will go there) like:

  • The Perfectly Imperfect Match (Suttonville Sentinels #3) by Kendra C. Highley from Entangled: Crush (Entangled Publishing LLC)  — releases July 10th, 2017.  I love this line from Entangled, and I’ve loved the first 2 books in Ms. Highley’s series (see my reviews for The Bad Boy Bargain and Swinging At Love).
  • Trust by Kylie Scott from the author — releases July 18th, 2017.  I saw this one on the featured list for NetGalley, and I’ve heard FABULOUS things about Ms. Scott, and I was intrigued by the blurb for this YA.  SO excited that I was approved!

New Releases:

35512773

  • Moments with Mason (Red Maple Falls #3) by Theresa Paolo — released June 24th, 2017.  I haven’t started this series yet, but I love the author and I love the premise of this series, and since it was on a release sale for 99 cents, it was a no-brainer (sale is over I believe).

Got It On Sale:

18681529231583143168825341naTJSwfjL26462713259352962741738725562838301274722269967225421436858036224367330

  • Meant for Love (Gansett Island #10) and Kisses After Dark (Gansett Island #12) by Marie Force — I really enjoy this series, and have read up to like book 6!  I’m slowly collecting the next books as they go on sale, so when I got eReaderIQ alerts that these both went on for 99 cents from their usual $3.99, I attempted to purchase them!  I was able to snag Kisses After Dark at the time (though it no longer shows the sale price for me, even though it’s still on sale), but Meant for Love wouldn’t give me a Canadian pass.  So Curly Carla came to the rescue, and we cheated the system!  I love cheating the system.  Anyways, at least in the US they’re both still on sale for 99 cents I believe.
  • Jordan Reclaimed (Preload #1) by Scarlett Cole — I read a NetGalley ARC of this book (see my review here) and really enjoyed it, and I always like getting the final copy, so when I got an eReaderIQ alert that it was on sale for $1.99 from its usual $4.99, I totally snagged it (still on sale).  Can’t wait for book 2, which is coming late summer or early fall I believe!
  • These next few books are all part of the Entangled sale that’s still going on right now, where I believe most of their Bliss (sweet) and Brazen (racy) line books are on sale for 99 cents from their usual $2.99.  I had quite a few of these on my wishlist, so I got eReaderIQ alerts for all but the last one.  Other than Robin Bielman, the rest of the authors are attending Apollycon 2018 in Washington, D.C. next March which I’m going to!
    • Her Accidental Boyfriend (Secret Wishes #2) and Wild About Her Wingman (Secret Wishes #3) by Robin Bielman — technically I’ve only read one book by Ms. Bielman, but I loved it, so I’ve been slowly collecting more (I already have book 1).
    • Playing For Her Heart (Gamers #2) and Tied to Trouble (Gamers #3) by Megan Erickson — I have book one in this series, and I read a NetGalley ARC of book 4 (see my review here), so I figured I’d finish collecting the series because I was intrigued by these couples.
    • Crazy for the Competition (Hope Springs #2) and The Bad Boy’s Baby (Hope Springs #3) by Cindi Madsen — I don’t have book 1, but I wasn’t as interested in it, so I skipped it…  I’ll probably regret that.
    • An Officer and a Rebel (Accidentally in Love #2.5) by Cindi Madsen — I read a NetGalley ARC of this a long time ago and LOVED it, so why not get the final copy on sale?  I already have all the rest of the series (and have loved the ones I’ve read as well).
    • Falling For His Best Friend (Out of Uniform #2) by Katee Robert — I’ve never read her, but since she’s attending Apollycon, and I love best friends to lovers stories, I figured why not?
  • Forbidden by Tabitha Suzuma — I have been wanting this book FOREVER, and usually the sales don’t count for me, but this time when I got the eReaderIQ alert that it was on sale for $1.99 from its usual $8.99, and it actually WAS, I jumped on that!!  Still on sale.
  • Ryker (Cold Fury Hockey #4) by Sawyer Bennett — I read a NetGalley ARC of book 6 in this series (see my review here) and really enjoyed it, so I put the previous books on my wishlist.  I got an eReaderIQ alert that it was on sale for $1.99 from its usual $4.99, but it was a US Only thing (or at least not on sale for me).  But I decided, what the heck, why not cheat with Curly Carla again!  😛  Still on sale.

New Releases:

35151232

  • Paper Cranes (a Fairytale Twist Novel) by Jordan Ford — released June 22nd, 2017.  I actually read an ARC of this book, but of course I needed to get a final copy since I loved it so much.  You can read my review here.

Got It On Sale:

272802191812116017900545

  • The Fall Up (The Fall Up #1) by Aly Martinez — Saw this one on BookBub and remember being intrigued by the reviews of it.  And since it was on for free from its usual $3.99, it was an easy decision.  Sale is over.
  • Time For Love (Gansett Island #9) by Marie Force — I’ve read quite a few books in this series, and so put the remaining ones on my wishlist.  So when I got an eReaderIQ alert that this one was free from its usual $3.99, I snatched it up!!  Ms. Force was originally supposed to be attending Apollycon 2018 in Washington, D.C. next March, which would be a bonus, but she’s recently pulled out.  Oh well.  Still free!
  • Rule (Marked Men #1) by Jay Crownover — Now as far as I know, this author is still going to be attending Apollycon 2018 in Washington, D.C. next March, and I did get a paperback copy on sale at my local bookstore recently.  But since I rarely read my paperbacks, when I got an eReaderIQ alert that it was on sale for 99 cents from its usual $1.99, I wanted to go for it.  But of course the Canadian publisher did not have the sale ($10+ for me!!!), so I decided to circumvent by giving Curly Carla a $1 gift card and getting her to gift it to me!  Take that Canadian publisher!  Still on sale!

New Releases:

  • Amnesia (Amnesia Duet #1) by Cambria Hebert — released June 10th, 2017.  I’ve already met this author, but I’m hoping to see her again at the Big Apple Author Event in October.

  • Shut Out (Bayard Hockey #1) by Kelly Jamieson — I got an ARC of book 2, but I haven’t read this book yet, so when I got an eReaderIQ alert that it was 99 cents from its usual $3.99, I snatched it up!  Still on sale!
  • Six of Hearts (Hearts #1) by L.H. Cosway — I haven’t read any of this author’s solo books yet, though I do have one or two from her.  And technically, I think this book has been on sale for a really long time, but it was featured on a The Rock Stars of Romance newsletter under the 99 cent steals, so I decided to go for it!  This author will be at both the Big Apple Author Event in October and Apollycon 2018 in Washington, D.C. next March, so it was more incentive.  Still 99 cents!

  • Perfectly Oblivious (The Perfect Series #1) by Robin Daniels — released May 31st, 2017.  I actually received this ARC a few weeks ago, but it didn’t have a cover, release date, or Goodreads entry, so I held onto the review at the time.  You can read my review here.

  • A Girl Like Me (Like Us #2) by Ginger Scott — released May 26th, 2017.  This book actually could have been in two categories, this one and the ARCs from Authors/PR Companies one (from Wordsmith Publicity), b/c I got the ARC the previous week, and then my preorder came through.  It totally lived up to my expectations, you can read my review here!
  • Stage Kissed by Cassie Mae & Kelley Lynn — released May 30th, 2017.  This is another book that could have been in the ARC category (from Tulip Publishing) as well as this one.  It’s so adorable, read my review here!
  • The Way Back Home by Carmen Jenner — released May 30th, 2017.  This is another author that I’ve never read, but will be attending the Big Apple Author Event in October, and it was on a release sale of 99 cents, so I said yes please!  It’s still on sale too!

New Releases:

  • Searching for Beautiful by Nyrae Dawn — I haven’t read this one yet, but this is one of my favourite authors, so it was a no brainer.  When we were in Niagara Falls for the Romancing the Falls event, I begged Brett to go to Book Outlet’s brick and mortar store.  It was pretty sweet, with some great deals, but I probably would have gone crazier if I was the type of reader to read really popular books.  If you’re in the neighbourhood and read more traditionally published books, there’s a lot of great deals.

  • Objects in Mirror (Stonegate Series #1) by Tudor Robins — I received an ARC of this book in March, but I haven’t gotten to it yet.  But when I got an eReaderIQ alert that it was free from its usual $3.99, I snatched it up.  It was just a one day sale.
  • A Songbird Novel Box Set: Fever, Bulletproof, Everything & Home (Songbird #1-4)  and A Songbird Novel Box Set: Geronimo, Hole Hearted & Rather Be (Songbird #8-10) by Melissa Pearl — In celebration of the conclusion of the Songbird series, Ms. Pearl is hosting a Read-A-Thon of this series that started this week and goes for 10 weeks.  And before the Read-A-Thon could start, Ms. Pearl put each of her 3 box sets on sale for only 99 cents from their usual $5.99 to make it accessible for anyone to join in on the read-a-thon, which is so cool!  Even though I already have all the books, I bought the first and third box sets so I could declutter my Kindle.  I missed the deal on the 2nd box set b/c it was a countdown deal, and those apparently don’t work for non US/UK peeps.  Ah well.
  • The Bad Boy Reformed Series: Complete Boxed Set (Bad Boy Reformed #1-3) by Alyssa Rae Taylor — I read book 1 in this series a while ago and remember enjoying it, so when I saw this set on BookBub for $1.99 from its usual $6.99, I figured I would go for it!

  • Sidebarred (The Legal Briefs #3.5) by Emma Chase — I actually have a signed copy of this paperback, but haven’t read it yet.  So when I got an eReaderIQ alert that this one was on sale for 99 cents from its usual $2.99, I one-clicked like a boss!!  I prefer reading on my Kindle, so I have a higher likelihood of actually reading it now.  This one’s still on sale!

  • Royal Treatment (Royal Scandal #3) by Parker Swift from Forever Yours (Grand Central Publishing) — releases June 11th, 2017.  I’ve read the first two books in the series (read my reviews for Royal Affair and Royal Disaster), so I’m excited to see how the trilogy ends.

  • Rather Be (Songbird #10) by Melissa Pearl — released May 8th, 2017.  The end of an era!!  I actually got to beta read this book, and it’s so adorable.  Haven’t had a chance to review this one yet, but I’m hoping to do that this summer when I participate in the Songbird series read-a-thon!

Won It:

  • Hook (Duplicity Duet #1) by Elisabeth Grace — The author offered a free copy of this book for all attendees of Romancing the Falls, which is in just ONE WEEK FROM TODAY!!!  It sounded intriguing, so I said yes please!

  • Sincerely, Carter (Sincerely Carter #1) by Whitney G. — So I’ve recently decided I’m going to try to attend Apollycon 2018 in Washington, D.C. next March, so I started going through all the attending authors and making a Goodreads Shelf for books by those authors that I already own.  But I was also noting those books that I’ve seen bloggers I follow recommend that piqued my interest, and I wanted to add a few of those to my wishlist.  And while I was doing that, I noticed this book was only 99 cents, so I snapped it up!  It’s back to its regular price of $4.99 now.  It’s funny, b/c then a few days later I noticed it on BookBub!  Too late BookBub, you were too slow for me.
  • Unspoken (Woodlands #2) by Jen Frederick — Another book by an Apollycon attending author that I’ve seen recommended (particularly by Deanna @A Novel Glimpse), and when I noticed it was 99 cents, I snapped it up too!  Honestly book one is on sale too, but this book is the one that piqued my interest the most.  I think the regular price is $4.99, but my eReaderIQ Integrator indicates it’s been on sale for a bit…
  • Someone Like You (Oxford #3) by Lauren Layne — I’ve been wanting to read this one for a while, but hadn’t gotten around to buying it yet.  IT’S LINCOLN’S BOOK!  So when I got an eReaderIQ alert that this one was on sale for 99 cents from its usual $3.99, I one-clicked like a boss!!  I’m hoping to meet this author at the Big Apple Author Event in October.  This one’s still on sale!
  • The Game Plan (Neighbor From Hell #5) by R.L. Mathewson — I really enjoy this series, and when I was updating my watch list for eReaderIQ, I noticed it was on sale for 99 cents.  Apparently it has been for a while, so not sure why I didn’t get an alert, but whatevs…one-click!
  • Capture (Seaside Pictures #1) by Rachel Van Dyken — I have a mixed relationship with Ms. Van Dyken’s books, but I’ve enjoyed a few in this series/spinoff, so when I got an eReaderIQ alert that this one was free from its usual $2.99, I one-clicked!  She’s another author that will be attending Big Apple Author Event in October.  This one’s still on sale!
  • Kidnapped Idol: A Kpop Romance Book by Jennie Bennett — I’ve been collecting these Kpop novels (and hoping to read them this month for one of my diversity challenge themes), so when I saw it free on My Book Cave email, I grabbed it!  Sale is over though, back to $3.99.

Loaned to Me:

  • Pucked (Pucked #1) by Helena Hunting — I actually forgot this one in last week’s StS!  As I’ve mentioned before, I’m reading in preparation for Romancing the Falls in May, and Ms. Hunting is one of the authors that will be attending.  My girl Kelly has recommended this series to me, b/c she knows I love a good sports romance, hockey in particular.  And she is da bomb dot com and loaned the book to me so I could give it a try!!  The humour might be a bit too over the top for me, but I enjoyed the hero immensely.  You can read my review here.

Preorders That Went Live:

  • Who She Was by Stormy Smith — This one is on a preorder and release week sale for only 99 cents, so definitely go check it out!!  I received an ARC of this book, so I’ve already reviewed it (which you can read here).
